Freeways are not free. We pay for them in all kinds of ways — with our tax dollars, our time, our environment and our health. While freeways have enabled huge amounts of economic growth, they've also caused displacement and division. Learn the forgotten history of our urban freeway network, and how decades after that network was finished, some communities are still working to heal the wounds that freeways left behind. As climate change threatens to wreak havoc on our cities, freeways are not just a part of the problem. They can also be part of the solution.

Sex. It is a driving force behind many of our relationships and paramount to our sense of self. It plays a huge role in our lives and society - influencing politics and laws, religious practices, healthcare, economics and more.So it is no wonder that sex is a big topic of both loud and hushed conversations. Former stripper and current owner of Les Girls Theater, Kata Pierce-Morgan, provides unlimited access to a half century of archival material that uncovers a dark chapter of San Diego history from the 1970s and 80s. Prepare for sassy strippers, corrupt cops, and a fierce activism launched from the unlikely stage of a strip club. Viewer discretion is advised for explicit content.

When a police officer is found dead in her home with a bullet between her eyes, who investigates? Both Ciara Estrada and her boyfriend were San Diego police officers. They went with friends to a New Year’s Eve party. Pictures from that night show the smiling couple. The next day, Ciara was dead … discovered on her bathroom floor with her gun in her lap. Her own department investigated the death and quickly ruled it a suicide. Investigators, who were her colleagues, made no arrests. Identified no suspects. But her family says there’s more to her story – tragic circumstances that should have prompted a more thorough investigation. They don’t think the police dug deep enough into the death of one of their own.

These are cross-border stories that connect us. Border people often inhabit this in-between place.
